Crumbs and Doilies
Now this is a place that I have wanted to do a blog post on since I first set foot in the little store in Carnaby street. Every time I go to London I now feel that it is a tradition to visit this place to buy a mini cupcake. But when I say cupcakes, I don’t just mean any other old cupcake… I’m not even usually a massive fan of cupcakes… but I mean a HUGE range of choices that are all so beautifully decorated! Every time that I go in I usually get two mini cupcakes (they do large ones too), but that way I get to try different flavours each time, and rarely do I ever get the same flavour again! There is always so much choice and the selection changes daily, so you’re never going to get bored. And that’s probably why I tend to go back two or three times in the week I spend in London.
It’s not just the amazing cupcakes either. It’s the shop, the location and the staff…. the shop is so cute and tiny and beautiful with pastel pinks and blues and the location is just perfect! In Carnaby street, which is just off the main shopping areas, making it great for a little break from the main chain stores (especially at Christmas time!). Oh and the staff are super friendly too, always helping you make your choices… or confusing you because it all sounds great!!
This time around I tried carrot cake (which was amazing!!), some sort of volcano one… which I think was a red velvet cupcake, with a biscuit crumb base, a cookie dough centre topped with a oreo icing and caramel sauce… a big mouthful for sure! I also tried the biscoff biscuit flavour (which was my favourite!), nutella flavour and lastly I tried the pumpkin spice falvour (which was YUM!) Plus, I also bought the little cookbook that they wrote as part of a Jamie Oliver series (I think) so now I can make these on my own! Bring on the next few months of me trialling the most amazing cupcake recipes ever!
