Day 3 of walking the W trek in Patagonia, Chile
Date: 31 January 2016
Location: Lodge to Cuernos
Hours of walking: 5.5
We were quite relaxed about today because we knew that on the map it would be the shortest day of walking (being only 5-6 hours) so we took the luxury to leave around 9.30 am which was quite late. The weather again was perfect and the sun was shining brightly with zero clouds in the sky! The first part of the walk was really easy as we were walking gradually downhill and I really got onto a roll. It was just a really beautiful day of walking and it's quite hard to write about because there wasn't anything major going on so here are plenty of photos so that you all understand what I'm talking about… You can't describe how amazing it looks!
In the afternoon it became very hot and there wasn't even a breeze coming through so little hills became a challenge and we just wanted to get to the lodge at that point. So the last hour I became very determined and walked on my own while Papa could relax a little and take his time.
We were so happy to arrive at our lodge because we had upgraded this night to a private lodge instead of the typical dorm room. But when we arrived we couldn't believe how amazing it all looked! We had our own little cabin right next to a waterfall with an outdoor hot tub… Not bad for trekking! I've included photos below because it was just something out of a movie and apart from the 2 days of walking to get there it could have been a 5 start luxury resort!
