The cutest little city: Ljubljana
I spent 3 nights in Ljubljana and honestly this has to be one of my all time favourite cities! I had no idea what to expect, especially since it's so low on the tourist radar and I was pleasantly surprised. It's the capital city of Slovenia and if you know the size of Slovenia then you can only imagine how small of a city this is. I spent 2 of my 3 days exploring the city and just wandering down every lane and alleyway taking photos (my second day was spent at Lake Bled). It is so quiet and peaceful and I just love the whole vibe of the city. It isn't anything like the vibe of London where it's hustle and bustle all the time, it is the complete opposite, totally relaxed. It was voted the greenest city of Europe 2016 and you can just tell why when you look at the place. My favourite part about that was the little pigeon hole boxes attached to trees for people to book-swap. Its great! It's a city that holds so much beautiful history in its old buildings but yet is so forward thinking, not only in being eco-friendly but also with it's restaurants, bars and tasteful graffiti art tactfully placed around the city. I also love that fact that there are sculptures and pieces of art placed all around the city... it is truly a place to come away to for a weekend escape from the city... only to a more quiet and zen one. To be honest I just spend one morning reading my book in a park and people watching... and I loved it! Check out the photos below to see what I mean and I'm sure you'll be adding this to your bucket list as soon as possible. It has to be one of the most underrated cities of Europe!
